Avoca Quality Consortium
Sponsored by Eli Lilly and Pfizer, the consortium brings together quality, outsourcing and operational professionals from member pharma and biotech organizations to accelerate the development of an industry standard and best practice approach to quality management.
Through Avoca’s benchmarking of best practices and the formation of an industry consortium
focused specifically on quality management, members will work to improve the quality and outcomes of
outsourced trials. The initial areas of focus will be on quality agreements and metrics.
In 2012, the consortium will open membership to CROs and, over the long term, develop a new
paradigm in the industry’s approach to quality management and partnering to ensure high quality and
risk mitigation.
Current members include Amgen, Astellas, AstraZeneca, Biogen Idec, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cerexa,
Cubist, GlaxoSmithKline, Grünenthal, Purdue and Roche.
