Covance Receives First Place in ACRP-Avoca CRO Quality Awards

Press Release – September 30, 2020

Covance was recognized with the ACRP-Avoca CRO Quality Award during the ACRP-Avoca Quality Congress this month.

The Association of Clinical Research Professionals and The Avoca Group jointly recognized leading CROs at the event.

The following ACRP-Avoca CRO Quality Awards were announced:

  • First Place – Covance
  • Second Place – ICON
  • Third Place – PRA Health Sciences

Finalists for the ACRP-Avoca Quality Awards were chosen by investigational sites through a research study conducted with The Avoca Group over an 8-week period in early 2020.

In this research, investigational sites were asked to rate CRO attributes aligned to quality outcomes. Specifically, functional attributes that support quality into design, execution, and oversight of clinical trials, as well as soft-skill areas such as communication and partnership.

“We congratulate all the finalists for having proven their ability to work effectively with investigative sites. This includes their ability to appreciate site operations, manage relationships, and ensure high-quality CRA support,” says Jim Kremidas, ACRP Executive Director. “Recognition of quality partners in the clinical trial community greatly supports our mission to promote excellence in clinical research.”

“Organizations that provide high-quality support to investigational sites fill a critical role in the clinical research ecosystem.” says Patricia Leuchten, CEO of The Avoca Group. “It is an honor to partner with ACRP on the annual Quality Award to recognize the importance of collaboration among sites, sponsors, and CROs in driving advancements in clinical trial execution.”
